The
Spartan Club is a non-profit organization whose
primary purpose
is to secure scholarship support for over 225
male and female student-athletes that compete in
18
varsity sports at the NCAA Division I level.
Throughout the year the Spartan Club hosts hospitality
gatherings
and special events to promote interest and participation
in the overall athletic program.
We are proud
that when you become a member and make a
contribution, 100% of your donation goes directly
to athletic
scholarships for deserving student-athletes.
For the UNCG Athletic Program to be fully funded
we
need to raise 3 million dollars. This can be
done, but not without the generous support of our
Spartan
Club members.
The
Spartan Club office would like to offer our sincere
thanks to each of you that made a gift during the
2008-09 academic year! Overall the Spartan Club
brought in $436,274 this past year. The
annual fund brought in over $200,000 for only the
third time in the Spartan Club’s 23 year
history. The final total was $200,099 which is
a 9.8% increase over the 2007-08 year and its highest
figure since the 1989 fiscal year. In addition,
our endowment total was up significantly, a 35%
increase from last year. We cannot thank
you enough for the support you give us which
in turn provides increased opportunities for
student-athletes at UNCG.
